Survival Defense When Guns Are Not Allowed

BIGDefense
In the time before a major crisis occurs, private ownership or use of firearms, bows and arrows, and crossbows may be illegal and banned. As the situation gets worse, the government will impose martial law and confiscate weapons no matter how well you may think they are hidden.
Here are a few weapons that may be overlooked and that can be used to protect your family and loved ones.

Edged Weapons

Edged weapons are the oldest implements used by man. Then, as now, you can make knives and other edged weapons from flint, obsidian, bronze, arsenic copper-bronze, tin-bronze, iron. Today, there are three kinds of steel that you may be interested in:
  • Damascus steel – originated in India about the 5th century BC. The steel was heated to red hot, hammered, folded, and then quickly cooled in water. This process was repeated at least 500 times. This produced a better weapons grade steel.
  • Carbon steel – will rust if exposed to air and moisture. The rust if heavy will flake off causing the steel to weaken and break.
  • Stainless steel is an alloy with a minimum of 10% chromium by mass. Stainless steel does not rust or stain by water as ordinary steel does. When heated the chromium becomes chromium oxide that acts to form an air and water tight film that seals off the metal. This steel comes in many grades and finishes.
The following edged tools and weapons can be used as a substitute for firearms for protection. All of them can be dipped in poison so that even a single glancing blow can be a lethal one.
  • dreamstime_s_31704591
  • Farm Tools: Any of the metal farming or gardening tools can be used as weapons to protect yourself or the family. The spade, rake, pitchfork, pick, sickle, hand hoe, and garden claw all make excellent choices for either offensive or defensive weapons.
  • Bayonets: Either spike or flat knife designs can be used as is or cut back to make push knives. You can also add a set of brass or other metal knuckles by welding it to the shortened bayonet.
  • Daggers and Boot Knives: These double edged knives have a blade longer than 6 inches and are used to stick or slash. Most have a skull crusher at the back of the hilt.
  • Small Knives: Usually the blades are shorter than 6 inches long and can be a folding or a non-folding version. These knives are good defensive or offensive weapons because they can be “palmed” and used without them being seen.
  • Swords: There are two different edge designs for swords. The first is the single edge the other is the double edge. There are several lengths of swords. The first is the short sword which is 16 to 18 inches long, regular size sword which is 20 to 24 inches long, and the two handed sword that measures over four feet long. The short and the regular size swords can be used for protection and carried inconspicuously, but the long two handed sword is too large to be practical for anything other than staving off an attack on your home.
  • Spears: Have a 4 to 6 foot shaft with a metal spear point at the top. These weapons are designed to be thrown or thrusted into a human target.
  • Throwing Stars: Are metal shaped stars that have sharpened points that were designed to be thrown at a target and stick into it. In the hands of a trained individual they can kill or do great bodily harm.
  • Axes or hatchets: Are used for chopping. Some axes have double or single edges. As a weapon it can be thrown and deliver a bloody crushing wound or blunt trauma if the back blunt end hits first.
Blunt Force Weapons
Blunt force weapons use weight instead of sharp edges to kill or do great bodily harm. Damage to the body is caused by crushing instead of cutting.
  • Canes: originally used to steady and help a person in walking. A cane can be used as a nightstick type weapon and can deliver knockout or death blows to the head, break arms or legs, or cause deep blunt trauma wounds to the central body core. Historically the cane sword was a way to carry a sword concealed and at the ready if needed. This weapon is easy to carry in plain sight.
  • Clubs:  Usually made of heavy wood or metal scrap. These are crushing weapons that break bones or deliver deep trauma to inner organs.
  • Bats: Wood or aluminum bats used to play baseball also make a good weapon. A bat can easily break bones or kill if they hit the right part of the body.
  • Staffs or walking sticks: For thousands of years staffs were a defensive and sometimes offensive weapon for the poor or peasants. An individual who was good with a staff could disarm a person with a sword or a gun.
  • Maces: Maces were a medieval blunt force weapon made of steel or other strong metals. It was designed to crush skulls and brake limbs with blunt force. Today it is still a good defensive weapon in times of major crisis.
  • Chains: Chains made of steel or other heavy metals can be used as weapons in a defensive roll. They can be made to look like every day clothing accessories such as belts. They can deliver deadly crushing blows or break limbs.
  • Slings (2 Cord Type): Is a very old weapon that goes back thousands of years. It is easy to hid or conceal. With a little bit of practice it is possible to hit or kill your target out to 200 feet or better with rocks or scrapes of metal. Slings can be either defensive or offensive weapons.
  • Slingshots for stone, metal projectiles, or arrows: Slingshots are no longer a toy. They can be used to hunt small game by launching a ball bearing, rocks, and even arrows with deadly accuracy. This weapon can also be used defensively to protect your family in the absence of firearms.
  • Hand to Hand Fighting techniques: There are many forms from boxing to martial arts. Choose the fighting technique that best meets your needs and start studying today. Do not wait until the last moment to start the training.
Defense Arms
In a time when all private firearm ownership is banned or illegal, the above are a few alternatives for weapons that might be put into service to protect your family and loved ones. Almost anything can be used as a weapon regardless of the situation.
As with prisons and jails, you only need a creative mind and the will to have a weapon in order to get around any law or force used to try and take away your ability to defend yourself.

A Rise In Crime - Lawlessness In The Last Days

crime-scene-410-x200It was about 9:00 PM Sunday night.
Tracye got a post on her Facebook from a friend here in town.
A woman texted her fiancé the words "HELP ME"
The lady had been missing since Friday afternoon.  She left work at the Scooter Store in New Braunfels to pick up her son at school in San Antonio, but never made it. (1)
This morning she is found in a Laredo Hospital. That is almost 200 miles away.
What has happened is unknown at the moment, all we know is that her fiancĂ©  got texted those words.
This really concerned Tracye and I because we live in a pretty small town.
But that is not all, here is another head line...
Man stabs woman outside New Braunfels Walmart
A woman was stabbed in an attempted purse snatching outside of a New Braunfels Walmart early Sunday.
The stabbing took place just before 11 a.m. in the parking lot of the Walmart off of I-35.
Police say the suspect tried to swipe a 64-year-old woman's purse. He also stabbed her several times before fleeing the scene.
The woman was air lifted to University Hospital and is in stable condition. (2)
Here is one more...
Man Shot in an Attempted Brutal Kidnapping
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- Glenn Shane Godden, 39, of Seguin, was killed by police after attempting to kidnap a woman.
According to police, it all started when a man called authorities and said his door had been kicked in and his 32-year-old daughter was missing.
When officers arrived, they saw a white van speeding away from the area, dragging a woman (outside the car window and being held by her hair from the driver's side door.
According to police, Godden drove past one cruiser, but then rammed head-on into another police cruiser, landing on top of the hood.
The woman became pinned underneath both vehicles.(3)
New Braunfels is a very small town. Our population is around 45,000 people and yet Tracye and I are astounded at the violent crime that is taking place. Especially in such a rather small quiet conservative town.
But what is worse is that this is more and more becoming the norm no matter where one lives.
pork_barrel_spendingIn fact it is getting worse all over the nation.
The Index of Leading Cultural Indicators
In the early 1960s, the Census Bureau began publishing the Index of Leading Economic Indicators. These 11 measurements, taken together, represent the best means we now have of interpreting current business developments and predicting future economic trends.
From this idea The Index of Leading Cultural Indicators, a compilation of the Heritage Foundation and Empower America, attempts to bring a similar kind of data-based analysis to cultural issues.
This report is a statistical portrait (from 1960 to the 1990s) of the moral, social and behavioral conditions of modern American society--matters that, in our time, often travel under the banner of ``values.''
It should not surprise you to learn that according to The Index of Leading Cultural Indicators, America has been deteriorating socially, morally and I believe spiritually over the past 30+ years.
Since 1960, the U.S. population has increased 41%;the total social spending by all levels of government  has risen from $143.73 billion to the unimaginable $112 Trillion an increase that people can not even wrap their brains around.
Inflation-adjusted spending on welfare has increased by 630%+, spending on  education by 225%.
But here is a shocker, over this 30-year period and again this report was published in the 1990s, there was an increase in violent crime by 560%, a 419% increase in illegitimate births; a quadrupling in divorce rates; a tripling of the percentage of children living in single-parent homes; more than a 200% increase in the teenage suicide rate; and a drop of almost 80 points in SAT scores.
That was over a course of 30 years. We are now 10+ years past that and without knowing the statistics, one can just tell that it has gotten even worse.
The fact that violent crimes are on the increase here in our sleepy little town tells me that lawlessness is on the rise and getting worse by the day.
I mean should we expect it to be any other way when murder, violence, aggression and such is on TV 24/7/365?
I am going to go out on a limb here and say that based on the last 100 years, one can clearly see that violence, lawlessness and the lack of "natural love" for one another has reached epidemic proportions.
It has gotten to the point that literally no place is safe... and it is getting worse.
casey-anthony-casePublic schools resemble prison yard territories, kids are basically forced to join this social group or the next. On the streets gangs are rampant. In fact children are not safe in their own homes anymore.
They are beaten, maimed, raped, held as prisoners for sexual pleasure, then murdered because they become a burden and discarded as trash.
Remember the Caylee Anthony case?
Even though she was found not guilty, I honestly believe that it was the jury being lazy and not wanting to do their job properly. They opted for the desire to no longer be sequestered by the court instead of doing their proper job and issuing true justice.
Teenagers have lost all respect for authority, they have become cold, hard hearted, self centered, selfish and violent.
"The increases in violence we're observing are among very young people and they are very dramatic," said Glenn Pierce, the director of Northeastern's Center for Applied Social Research.
This crime wave isn't confined to inner-city neighborhoods in large urban areas. Cities with populations of 25,000 saw a 40 percent increase in homicides - the same as cities 10 times their size.
Want proof, here is a short list...
# March 2009: Fifteen people were shot and killed at Albertville Technical High School in southwestern Germany by a 17-year-old boy who attended the same school.
# November 2008: 15-year-old Teah Wimberly was charged in the shooting death of Amanda Collette, 15, on the campus of Dillard High School in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.
# October 2008: Four suspects, Kawin Brockton, 19, Kelsey Perry, 19, Mario Tony, 20, and Brandon Wade, 20 were charged in a shooting that took place on the University of Central Arkansas campus in Conway AR. Two students – Ryan Henderson, 18, and Chavares Block, 19 – were fatally shot. A third person, 19-year-old Martrevis Norman, a non-student visiting the campus, was shot in a leg and was treated at the nearby Conway Regional Medical Center.
# August 2008: Fifteen-year-old sophomore Ryan McDonald, was shot and killed by fellow sophomore student Jamar Siler, also 15 in the school cafeteria at Central High School in the Fountain City neighborhood of Knoxville, Tennessee. The two had been in previous altercations, the details of which were not released to the general public.
# February 2008: Steven Kazmierczak shot multiple people on the campus of Northern Illinois University in DeKalb, Illinois, United States, killing six and wounding eighteen.
# February 2008: Fourteen-year-old Brandon McInerney, a student at E.O. Green Junior High School in Oxnard, California shot and killed fellow fifteen-year-old student, Lawrence "Larry" Fobes King.
# February 2008: 17-year-old student Cornelius Cheers opened fire in the Mitchell High School cafeteria in Memphis TN, critically wounding 19-year-old student Stacey Kiser. The school was locked down for the rest of the day and the perpetrator was arrested and taken into custody.
# February 2008: 23-year-old nursing student, Latina Williams, opened fire six rounds with a .357 revolver in a second-floor classroom at the Baton Rouge campus of Louisiana Technical College before turning the gun on herself and committing suicide. The two victims were Karsheika Graves and Taneshia Butler, who were both fatally shot.
# October 2007: Two teachers and two students were shot at SuccessTech High School in Cleveland, Ohio before shooter, Asa Coon, committed suicide.
# September 2007: Delaware State University student, Loyer Braden, shoots two fellow students, killing one.
# Cho Seung-HuiApril 2007: 33 people are dead after two separate shootings at Virginia Tech, making it the worst school shooting in US history. On April 16, 2007, Cho Seung-Hui, a senior in the English department, who the South Korean Foreign Ministry said had been living in the United States since 1992, was the only suspect named in columbine_school_shootingconnection with the deadliest shooting rampage in modern U.S. history. (4)
Folks, this was just a small sample that I pulled.
Here is what Scripture says...
Matthew 24:12  And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
2 Timothy 3:1  This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come.
So should we be surprised at this getting even worse?
Folks, I am not one who believes that one day the rapture takes place and then the very next day all the earth goes to hell in a hand basket.
I believe that we are seeing AND WILL CONTINUE TO SEE an ever growing foreshadow of things to come.
In other words, it is going to get worse and worse as days go by.
What Do We Do?
Over the years men of God have dropped the ball. They have allowed what I believe a "feminization" of the church to take place. More and more women "wore the pants" in churches than men. It is still that way today. More women attend church, are involved in church and help direct church while basically men just hang home to watch their football, baseball and basketball games on TV.
We as men of God have neglected our proper role and because of that society has taken on a more "feminized" viewpoint over what God's Word states.
Now I know that I may be upsetting some folks out there, but this is a fact and has been the fact for the past 125+ years.
Somewhere along the way, men lost their back bone.
jesus-jihadThe whole foundation of the family structure is based upon the man of the home doing the right thing, being a loving father and husband and disciplinarian, but also the Christian warrior he is called to be to guide and protect his family as well as his community.
What does God's Word say?
Psalms 144:1 Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight.
Jeremiah 48:10  Cursed be he that doeth the work of the LORD deceitfully, and cursed be he that keepeth back his sword from blood.
Luke 22:36  Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
And one that really hits home very hard...
1 Timothy 5:8  But if any provide not for his own, and especially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
Godly men's apathy has grown so bad, we are now suffering the consequences due to our neglect.
Instead of standing and doing the right thing, we have gotten used to illicit sexual relationships, adolescent promiscuity, abortion, cheating, lying, stealing, prostitution, rape, divorce, and even murder.
All of this has taken place because we as men of God have refused to stand in the gap and do what is right in light of God's Word.
We have gotten used to financial mismanagement on both civil and personal levels. We have accepted political corruption. We have rejected personal and social responsibility and learned to blame anyone or anything else for our problems and failures. We have traded in our infinitely valued divine image for a nickel-plated pagan shrine erected in honor of self-interest, immorality, and social apathy.
What we need to do as men of God is to draw the line in the sand and say "no more."
Men of God need to learn to grow their back bone again and start being the men of God they are called to be.
We are at a stage in time where the wolves are becoming a serious menace on society and the only way to combat that is to once again become the "sheepdogs" that we were once many years ago.
We need to relearn what we have lost. How to the proper leaders and not dictators. How to defend our families, and if called upon, to offer the ultimate sacrifice to protect them.
When walking in the parking lot with your family, let your body language state that you are the sheepdog and no one is going to accost those you have stewardship over.
Better yet, we need to obey Christ himself and if we do not own a weapon, do what we need to do so that we can protect our families.
armor_of_godThis does not mean go buy a gun and then stick it in the night stand drawer. We as Christian warriors need to train and become proficient so that when that evil day comes, we are able to stand and fight.(Eph6:13)
Our nation is going down the tubes, we are called as Christians to "occupy till He returns." That is our marching orders. We need to return to our duty till that time of our appointment with Him comes or till He calls His church home.
No matter what, we have a responsibility to ourselves and to our families.
Times ARE getting bad and they will get even worse than what we have been seeing already. Scripture tells us that this will take place and God does not lie.
Therefore till that time comes, we must be ready to stand for what is right and return to our heritage, that being the Christian Warrior God called us to be and stop neglecting the duties He has placed upon us.

PZ Radio - "Surviving The Economic Collapse" with author Fernando "FerFAL" Aguirre

I am really excited about this interview. I have been emailing Fernando on and off for about a 8 months now and I am glad to finally be able to get him on PZ Radio.

Fernando lived through Argentina's 2001 financial collapse. He is also still living in Argentina, where after ten years of the peso hyperinflating, life is still going on. But it is not what was, it is the  "New Normal."

If you want to get a glimpse of what I belive the US will look like if we go down the path of financial hardship, then Argentina is the place to look.

This is a part one of a two part interview that lasted over two hours. We covered everything and some things were down right troubling to know that what Fernando described. They quiet possibly will take place here in our own nation.

So sit up and listen to this show, and just to warn you, this show is not for the weak of heart.

Remember, You're Listening To PZ Radio.

Become The Gray Man

By Ray Gano
A man who can blend in to any scene or situation without standing out , hiding his skills and qualities. Source - urbandictionary.com
Becoming the gray man, it will be an important skill; a skill you will need in the future days to come. You will need to learn how to blend into your environment, look like everyone else, and become the "average looking Joe."
But what makes you different is that you are alert to your surroundings, you suspect everyone that comes within your 20 foot perimeter and you are ready to react if need be. The real mission is to just be left alone while putting off that "sheepdog" disposition instead of being one of the sheep.
You are not some weekend warrior or paramilitary nut, you are just like everyone else except your every day carry gear probably includes keys, cell phone, wallet, wrist watch.... a folding lock blade knife, multi-tool, pepper spray, maybe even a flashlight and if you are C&C licensed, a handgun with an extra loaded magazine.
This is today and you have adapted to the "new normal" that we now call America.
Crime, looting, blocked roads due to riots, muggings, theft, rape and murder. These are more common place today than the days of yesteryear.
Luke 22:36 (KJV) Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
We live in a time where going to the mega-mart or the grocery store is an act of bravery, determination, logistics and security. No longer is it just running to get a gallon of milk and a dozen eggs.
Not that way in your area yet? Just wait.
How To Be The Gray Man
Look around, what are all the guys wearing? Now I am focusing on the guys because I am a guy. Ladies, this is for you also, take my examples and adapt them to what you would wear and so forth.
Here in the Texas Hill Country, the majority of men wear some sort of "cargo" shorts. They go to just above the knee and tend to be a little baggy. Beige, brownish red, or blue jeans tend to be the color of choice.
For a shirt, one will wear a common "T" shirt that is lose fitting sometimes with a pocket on the left breast. Or if they want to dress it up a little, a button up short sleeve. Usually some sort of cotton print.
When it gets close to hunting season, around the beginning of August, the "Real Tree" cammo "T" shirts become the norm. See here in Texas, hunting is a big deal and everyone gets in the mode. It also helps that the local Walmart sells these cammo "Beefy T's" for only $6.00 each.
On his feet, are ankle socks or rolled over tube socks under sneakers or some form of work boots.
Finally the common baseball cap on top of the head and sporting sunglasses.
This is what an "average Joe" looks like when he is in his casual dress out on the street.
This is how I dress, except I try not to wear loud logo based shirts, no jewelry except my wedding ring, nothing that makes me stand out.
If someone asked about you, could they describe you or would they be describing just about everyone else, the average Joe?
How you DON’T want to dress
Like I said You don’t want to attract attention towards yourself. Don't wear bright colors or "haute de couture" fashion, nothing that makes you stand out.
Example: Here in Texas everyone thinks of the cowboy. We have a lot of cowboys walking around, but they are not dressed in the "A" typical cowboy dress.
The cowboys here are not wearing the long sleeved shirt with fringes dangling, no 10 gallon cowboy hat, nor fancy rhinestone pants. Everyone imagines the average cowboy looks like Roy Rogers or Hop-along Cassidy but they don't.
The average cowboy looks just like the person that I described above except that he probably wears some sort of work jeans. Come fall and winter here in Texas, we all look like the average "cowboy."
Once in a while you will see someone wearing a cowboy hat. Straw cowboy hats are acceptable for guys over fifty during the summer time. During the winter everyone switches from straw to a black felt hat.
Believe me, if you step out of this mold, you will get noticed and that is not what you want to do.
If you are a prepper, you do not want to be dressing in some sort of combat BDU pants, army boots, and definitely no shirts with paramilitary sayings like "death from above" or pictures that you see at all the gun shows. This is a dead give-away and shouts "HEY... Look at me, I am a weekend warrior."
Become The Gray Man
Become the average Joe, blend into your surroundings. But walk with a purpose and be alert to what is going on around you.
While you want to look like the average person, you want to project a demeanor about you that tells the wolves "to leave you alone, you are not one of the sheep, don't mess with me."
See, the sheep will not notice you, just like real sheep, they do not really notice the sheepdog. But the wolves will see you. Wolves are cowards and seek out the weak, frail and innocent. They do not want to have to work too hard, they want to be in and out and be done with the job.
So while you don’t what to be wearing some neon sign blinking " GUN... GUN.... GUN … KNIFE … KNIFE … KNIFE … with an arrow pointing at you; you want to be acknowledged as someone who is alert, aware and not some soft target.
How you achieve this is by training yourself. Look like you are someone alive, not some drained zombie who stairs at the ground, shoulders slumped as if he has the weight of the world on his shoulders.
Make eye contact and smile at people, greet them and wish them a good day or just a simple nod of the head will do.
You don't want to seem like some bodyguard type either. You know the guys with the little curly tube sticking out of their ear, dark Ray-Ban glasses, constantly scanning, ready to pounce at a moment's notice. That is going overboard.
I bring up the Mega-stores because that is where America shops, it is also where the wolves hang out for some quick prey.
When walking in the parking lot, have a determination to your step, enter Mega-Store and look the greeter in the eye, nod your head say hello and smile. Then take a basket, eye the cashier and the customers checking out, assess if anyone is out of place then move on for that gallon of milk, dozen eggs and a few extra boxes of ammo.
BUT for example… if you enter the store, scan the area and notice someone wearing a trench coat and it is 90 degrees outside. This should raise your red flags. If this happens, step up the pace and move into the store, get out of the general area and do your shopping.
Every Day Carry - What I wear
I do not want to go into much detail in this article as to Every Day Carry (EDC), that is for another article, but for your E.D.C. kit carry what you want. The items above are what I carry and I don't look like I am wearing Batman's utility belt either. My clothes do not scream "Hey.. It's Mr. Tactical Guy here" either.
I wear Wrangler brand cargo shorts. These have cargo pockets on each side as well as a cell phone pocket that opens above the cargo flap. They have side pockets which the right pocket has a coin pocket inside the deep right. Finally there are left and right rear pockets.
As for a shirt, I wear a common black, blue, beige, Fruit of the Loom pocket "T" shirt or a short sleeve button up with a left breast pocket. If it is hunting season, which at the time of this writing it is. I also wear cammo "Real Tree Beefy T" shirts because just about every other guy is wearing them also.
An important item that I want to touch on is your belt. I wear a double thick "Justin Boots" black leather belt with a common cowboy belt buckle. Your belt needs to be sturdy enough to carry all your gear if you do not put the items in your pockets as well as hold up your pants. So you do not want some inexpensive belt from the big mega stores. Invest some money in this and you will not be sorry. You would be surprised how much a cell phone, buck knife, and a Multi-tool weighs when you are carrying it on your hip. With a heavy duty belt it will also help distribute the weight of these items more evenly and honestly once you get used to them, you forget they are even there. Another thing, my belt is also a last ditch defensive weapon. The buckle weighs a good 10-12 ounces and makes for a mean bludgeon and can help keep someone at arms distance if need be.
How I developed my EDC was that I slowly carried one item, then added another and another. It took time in getting used to carrying gear, finding the spot where it is easy to access and have it not be banging around on my leg or chest. You will find that some things work and some things don't. Carry what tools and gear you need but don’t make it obvious that you are a prepper or you will look like some paramilitary tactical guy.
If you can get away with it, use a back pack or messenger bag. Look at what others are carrying in your area and adapt to the look. If everyone carries a back pack, carry a back pack. If they carry a messenger bag, well then messenger bag. With this you can also carry a water bottle, small first aid kit and any other gear that is important to you.
Just remember to keep it light, you do not want to turn yourself into some pack mule.
When I dress up, I usually wear black jeans, black cowboy boots, a black long sleeve shirt and a tie. If need be and I need to dress up more, I wear a beige twill sport coat and in all of this, I can still carry most of my gear. This is what the average guy wears here when they dress up, so I am still blending in and looking good too.
If someone would describe me, they would say he had on black shirt, pants and cowboy boots. In other words I look like every other Joe that walks into a nice restaurant or business meeting.
Becoming the gray man will be an important skill for you to develop, specially as crime starts to rise, which it will. You will need to be equipped to protect yourself and possibly others if needed. You will also want to blend in the background.
Above all, your goal is to get home safely that day. You are not some super hero nor are you there to protect the world. You are ready to defend yourself if you have to, but your goal is not having to resort to that.
Finally...
Tactical retreats, AKA running away is totally acceptable. The only one who didn't walk away was John Wayne and that was in the movies. You are not bullet proof nor knife proof, so run don't walk if you think you need to get out of the area fast. Your spouse will be glad you did and so will you.
And as a last resort, always remember it is better to face 12 than to be carried out by 6. So if you have to protect yourself, fight to win because you will be fighting for your life.

Signs of The Coming Storm - A Rise in Crime

By Ray Gano
New Braunfels Police Make Arrest In Violent Stabbing
NEW BRAUNFELS, Texas -- A 46-year-old man has been arrested in connection with a violent stabbing at a New Braunfels Wal-Mart. Police have charged Juan Leandro Villareal with aggravated robbery, a first-degree felony. New Braunfels police said Villareal stabbed a 64-year-old woman several times at the store's parking lot around 11 a.m. Sunday.

Layoffs to gut East St. Louis police force
EAST ST. LOUIS • The Rev. Joseph Tracy said he’s tired of going to funerals. And now, he suspects he’ll be going to more of them.
"It’s open field day now," said Tracy, the pastor of Straightway Baptist Church here. "The criminals are going to run wild."
Gang activity. Drug dealing. Cold-blooded killing. Tracy worries that a decision to shrink the police force by almost 30 percent will bring more of everything.
The pastor voiced his concern on Friday at a raucous special City Council meeting at which East St. Louis Mayor Alvin Parks announced that the city will layoff 37 employees, including 19 of its 62 police officers, 11 firefighters, four public works employees, and three administratormugger.jpgs. The layoffs take effect on Sunday.
It is already a zoo out there and it is going to get a whole lot worse before it gets any better.
I am going to say some things here that many people will probably not agree with me on. If you are one of those, I  pray that you open your eyes to what is taking place around you.
Now you may be shielded from the effect that are taking place in the world, but sooner or later you will have to deal with the issues at  hand.
Christ  said…
Luke 22:36 (KJV)  Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
1 Timothy 5:8 (KJV)  But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.
Sheep, Wolves and The Sheepdog
I am seeing a movement take place.
One that I agree with, support and even consider myself one of them.
What is that movement?
The rise of the sheepdogs?
"What? You have got to be kidding me. Sheepdogs? "
We are seeing a rise of just  men and women answering a call. That call is to defend the weak, the innocent,  the helpless, the frail… these are the sheep. Those answering the call are the sheepdogs.
There is also a rapidly growing number of  those we call the wolves.
photo-ScaryWolf.jpgWolves - There has always been the wolf. They prey on the weak, the sick, the feeble, the injured, etc. In the wild they serve the purpose to keep the herd strong.  Thus ensuring a strong future generation.
But when we talk about humans being the wolves, they are those who prey up on the weak, frail, the injured and the helpless. These are usually the deviants of society. Resorting to theft, murder, kidnapping as a means to survive. They are the predators and they prey upon the sheep.
In most cases the wolves of this world are cowards, even when hunting in a pack. Stand and fight against them, give a show of force stronger than they and often they will seek out a weaker form of prey and be done with you.
The Sheepdog - are those who stand at the ready to protect the sheep if that time comes.
The sheepdog mentality is not about carrying a gun or some other form of weapon. It isn't about being some 5th degree black belt either. Criminals have guns, weapons and know martial arts.
The sheepdog are also not better than the sheep, they  realize their calling to be ready as well as have the courage to back it up. They have taken the time to read the writing on the wall. But where the sheep have read the same thing, the sheepdogs have done something about it and have taken action.
Here in Texas one is able to have a carry and conceal license. Because one may have a C& C does not make them  tough, a bigger man or give them super strong muscles. In fact look at me,  I am not taller, more handsome, nor leap from tall buildings and I still can't stop trains with my bare hands.
But I am a sheepdog.
A sheepdog can be anyone prepared to protect the sheep.
But that is just one aspect of the Sheepdog.
Maybe you are a sheepdog and you do not realize it.
German_Shepherd.jpgSheepdogs…
- They have provided means to protect themselves, their family, and their home with as many means as possible.
- They prepared knowing that this situation was coming not only because they have learned from history, but they have studied God's Word, understanding what the future holds.
- They care for their family and are willing to do what it takes to ensure their health and welfare is secure.
- They blend into the crowd, walk with a purpose and completely alert to their surroundings before they even step outside their front door.
- They have prepared for the coming storm and have ensured their family is provided for.  One example is they have  a well stocked pantry - they see food as an investment and also a means to help their fellow man.
- The sheepdog knows how the end plays out. He or she knows that they are on the winning team and that in the end, it is Jesus Christ whom they serve. They know it is Him who they represent because it is their reasonable service to Christ dying on the cross and shedding His blood for our sins. They have submitted to Christ living a holy and acceptable life unto Him.
- They have a strong mental fortitude and have chosen to be the "sheepdog" when the calling was issued instead of just standing by being the "sheep."
Scripture tells us that there is nothing new under the sun. There will be good times and bad. Man will always repeat himself because he never pays attention to his past. There will also be sheep, wolves and sheepdogs.
Sheepdogs also understand fully when Christ said .. " he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one."
I am going to touch upon something here that again, people may not agree with me.
Folks, it is time for the sheepdogs to recognize who they are, to stand and start picking up the sword.
The wolves are growing in numbers to the point that they have outnumbered the sheep, and it is going to get worse.
Folks the Bible couldn't be clearer on the right – even the duty – we have as Christians to defend ourselves as well as the sheep.
I live in New Braunfels where that  predator wolf stabbed that elderly woman in the Walmart parking lot. Reading that story infuriated both my wife and I. Had I been there, I would have instantly and without hesitation gone to her aid. I will protect the sheep.  Interestingly enough, in talking to my wife she would have gone to her aid also given the ability.
Scripture says…
Exodus 22:2 (KJV)  If a thief be found breaking up, and be smitten that he die, there shall no blood be shed for him.
In other words if a thief breaks into your house,  you have the right to defend yourself, your  family and your property.  It doesn't matter whether the thief is threatening your life or not. You have the right to protect your home, your family and your property as well as using deadly force to do so.
Do you know that our founding fathers based the second amendment on scripture?
During the times of the Israelites it was expected that every man to have their own personal weapons.  There were no police in those times. If an enemy was at bay, every man would be able to defend himself, his house and family. If there were bands of enemy, they could  be called to arms to defend the town if need be. They didn't have an army to call upon, the people defended themselves.
Scripture says..
1 Samuel 25:13(KJV)  And David said unto his men, Gird ye on every man his sword. And they girded on every man his sword; and David also girded on his sword: and there went up after David about four hundred men; and two hundred abode by the stuff.
Note here that "every man" had a sword and when called upon, every man picked it up when it was required.
Psalms  144:1 (KJV)  A Psalm of David. Blessed be the LORD my strength, which teacheth my hands to war, and my fingers to fight:
Folks, we do not serve some limp wristed pacifist God like the one being taught about today. Over and over again we read in scripture that we are to defend not only ourselves,  but to defend the weak, the innocent, the frail, and the helpless.
concealed-carry.jpgThey didn't have firearms in the bible, but they kept their arms at their side and at the ready.
As I have stated earlier, Jesus commanded His disciples to buy swords and equip them, strap them on.
Luke 22:36 (KJV)  Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
Now I know that there are some out there who are stating how Jesus told Peter to put his sword up after cutting off the ear of the servant as well as living and dying by the sword and all.
Let's read what took place…
Matthew 26:52-54 (KJV)  Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
53  Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
54  But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
Often these verses are taken out of context. But when we do in fact read what is  taking place here in context, we can clearly see what is taking place.
What  Jesus was telling Peter is that he, Peter, would be committing suicide if he chose to fight.
Here were Roman soldiers and temple guards, both able and ready to dispatch all of the disciples if need be and in a moment's notice. Not only was this a foolish fight,  doing something like this was also undermining God's appointment for Jesus' death on the cross, burial and resurrection.
What Christ did at that moment was defuse a very volatile situation by picking up the servant's ear and healing him by reattaching the ear again.
Please also note that Jesus told Peter to put his sword "into his place," which was back at his side. Christ didn't tell Peter to throw it away, hand it over or give it up.  I mean why would He after He just told his disciples to sell a coat if one had to so that they could purchase a sword?
The reason for the arms was obviously to protect the lives of the disciples, not the life of the Son of God.
But more than that, it was to ensure that they could protect themselves as well as the right to spread the gospel freely. Not only did Christ arm the disciples with knowledge of the ways of the Lord, He taught them to protect those ways, the ways of God,  and to defend them.
We are living in the last days of the last days. We know that our battle is not with flesh and blood, but with principalities.
But we as sheepdogs need to recognize that the time is now to stand and be willing to defend the weak, feeble, innocent and helpless because the wolves are beginning to outnumber the sheep. If we do not stand and be ready, not only will the weak, feeble, innocent and helpless lose, so will go our ability to freely share the gospel as well.
Finally, I want to share with you one of my favorite verses in scripture.
Ephesians  6:13(KJV)  Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand.
That evil day that scripture is speaking about is upon the horizon. The time to prepare, to train, to "do all that we can" is here. We need to heed those words.
Because knowing that we have prepared, trained, studied  and know God's Word as well as have it anchored in our hearts. Knowing that we have prepared  the physical, the mental, the spiritual…
In other words " and in having done all…"
"To Stand."
What is your calling…. Sheep or Sheepdog?

What is on your Every Day Carry list

E.D.C = Every Day Carry.
These are the items that we carry with us every day in case of situations taking place.
For example, My everyday carry consists of my 5.11 tactical folding lockblade knife, an enexpensive multi-tool by Ozark Trail and a mini-mag flashlight.
If I only take one item, I always take my knife, which I keep razor sharp.
I am interested in what you all carry for your E.D.C.
Post a comment and let me know.

Craigslist Diamond Ring Ad Leads to Father's Murder in Home Invasion

TACOMA, Wash. (CBS/AP) Four suspects are charged in a fatal home-invasion robbery linked to a Craigslist ad, according to Washington State officials. James Sanders, of the Pierce County community of Edgewood, Wash., was fatally shot on April 28 trying to defend his home from robbers who showed up on the pretext of purchasing a diamond ring he had advertised on the online classified site.

Sanders' wife, Charlene, told reporters last week how the people who pretended to be interested in buying a ring, robbed and beat her family and shot her husband.

"I had a gun to the back of my head with a countdown - three, two - and I'm just screaming and my kids are standing there, and I'm saying, please, God, don't let them kill me, don't let them kill my kids," she said.

She said her husband was shot trying to protect her 14-year-old son who was being pistol-whipped. James Sanders died in his wife's arms.

"I just kept saying 'honey please stay with me, stay with me, stay with us, don't go, don't go,' and he was just barely gasping for air," she said. "They took the love of my live."

RAY'S COMMENTARY

In my article "Crisis Meltdown Greece - Sheep, Sheepdogs, and Wolves" I talk about how this nation is already in the throws of a financial crisis. With that, I also mention the rise of crime, but not only that, but crime will become more violent.

This is an example of what I mean regarding people not understanding how things are changing.

Not only are many of  us students of Bible Prophecy, we are watchmen on the wall.

Scripture tells us that in the last days man's natural affection will wain. That is exactly what we are seeing today.

We need to be more alert to our environment. We can’t afford to be so naive to our surroundings any longer.

This also screams as to why one needs to have a weapon to protect one's family and home.

What Should Have Happened...

First point - He should have also had a a firearm at the ready at the very beginning while answering the door.

Looking through the peep hole and giving instructions to the youth. The home owner should have only let one in and have the others wait at a safe distance even before opening the door.

If they would have refused or not backed up at a safe distance, I would not have opened the door and I would have called the police, all the while having a firearm at the ready.

If I had let in one of the youths, I would have had a firearm within inches and would have fired at the first sign of danger.

Letting four youths into my home to look at a diamond ring should have also been the first tip, but the home owner let his guard down because he was in his own home.

The best scenario would have been for the seller to have met the buyer in a very public place like Starbucks or McDonald's. The seller should ask for a description of the buyers vehicle and a description of the buyer himself without telling the buyer what he, the seller, looks like nor what he drives.

I also endorse having a Carry and Conceal license if your state allows it. This way the seller would have kept his family and home out of danger as well as been able to protect himself by having a licensed firearm.

The seller should sit by a window near the counter so he can see the buyer's vehicle or the best possible view of the parking area. This way the seller can see how many people were occupying  the vehicle.

The buyer does not know who the seller is nor what the seller looks like, so the seller could blend in with the crowd if he suspected something.

Four youths in a vehicle should have caused suspicion and he (the seller) could have gotten up and walked out as the "buyer" was walking in and the seller would have never been noticed. He could have been in his vehicle and out of the area before the buyer put two and two together.

This is how situations like this should be handled when selling something of  value on Craig's List, Classifieds, ect.

Folks, the world is changing before our eyes and people are not realizing it. They still believe that we live in the days of "Leave it to Beaver." Crime is on a rise and it will only get worse. The sad thing about this situation, is that man of the house allowed he and his family to be victims. He paid the ultimate price for that grievous mistake. My prayers are with the family, and pray that these predators are given the death sentence for their heinous crime they committed.

We often hear Christ quoted saying "turn the other cheek" but barely do we hear...
Luke 22:36 (KJV)  Then said he unto them, But now, he that hath a purse, let him take it, and likewise his scrip: and he that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.
Thanks to Fernando (Ferfal) for sharing this with me.

In His Service,

Craigslist Diamond Ring Ad Leads to Father's Murder in Home Invasion, Say Wash. State Cops

Three of the suspects Kiyoshi A. Higashi, 22, and Joshua N. Reese, 20, both of Tacoma, along with Amanda C. Knight, 21, of Sumner, were arrested on May 1 during a traffic stop in California.

Officials say the fourth suspect, Clabon Berniard, 23, turned himself in to authorities on Thursday after being sought on a nationwide arrest warrant.

Investigators say they believe the people responsible for Sanders' death are also responsible for an April 25 robbery at a Lake Stevens home, north of Seattle, where the family had offered a TV for sale on Craigslist.

All four suspects are charged with first-degree murder, robbery and assault.

Knight appeared Wednesday in Pierce County Superior Court in tears and pleaded not guilty to all charges and was ordered held on $2 million bail.

Charlene Sanders was in court for Knight's appearance and called the whole experience "a nightmare" and told KOMO-TV, "When I saw her I started to shake."

She said earlier her 14-year-old son is recovering and both he and her 10-year-old son miss their father.
